In spite of the importance of thermodynamics it should be approached gently because the students may be chocked as they begin to study it (I was someday one of them). Humans and other creatures live and do their activities by transformation of energy to work. But what will be more important than this? Our universe including us consists of different forms of energy. The reason of such importance of thermodynamics is that it concerns with the nature of energy and its transformation to useful work. Chemists, engineers, physicists, philosophers, writers and others use this important science. Its three laws are applied to whatever you think.

It is a science in itself which finds applications in every side of our life. Thermodynamics is not a branch of any science.
